Pflugerville Community Development Corp Business Recruitment Director

Description:The Business Recruitment Director is responsible for overseeing recruitment of new business to the
City of Pflugerville. The Business Recruitment Director reports directly to the Executive Director or as
assigned. Primary responsibility of this position is recruitment of new business leading to capital
investment and job growth. The Business Recruitment Director assists the Business Development
Director with business retention and expansion efforts as needed.

This position must be able to think strategically and exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment.
Duties:Enhance and manage the Business Recruitment Program for the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation working with Executive Director to meet with potential businesses, site selectors, realtors, and others to identify and address their needs, manage recruitment projects, and facilitate connections and partnerships between businesses, City officials and others.

Gather and provide intelligence to the PCDC and City of Pflugerville on economic issues affecting the local area by collecting and analyzing data from local businesses.

Coordinate and supervise Recruitment site visits and meetings, including securing venues, overseeing invitation lists, writing scripts for event hosts, putting together gifts for attendees and setting up the venue.

Assist with marketing and communication efforts and oversee the Recruitment marketing tools and data uploads to the website to ensure the information meets the highest standards for site selectors, real estate professionals and company-led relocations and expansion.

Maintain strict confidence of covered information, including identities of prospective retention or relocation prospects as required by formal non-disclosure agreements. Maintain, in all activities, a level of professional discretion that protects PCDC new business and relocation prospects from unnecessary disclosure of their proprietary business information.

Facilitate meeting coordination between business and community leaders, school districts & the community and execute industry tours for VIPs, realtors, site selectors, developers and others.

Update and maintain various software systems and databases to include a comprehensive contact database, contact relationship management reports, prospect request for information updates, real estate databases and provide quarterly updates on all business recruitment activities.

Research company headquarters for existing Pflugerville companies so staff can meet with them during other
recruitment trips.

Develop professional and detailed responses to Requests for Proposals and other prospect requests for information to include marketing content and research.

Assists the Executive Director in developing due diligence reports on prospects, performance agreement terms and conditions, economic impact reports, and final presentations for the PCDC Board for consideration prior to any contract award.

Coordinate with the staff on public presentations and marketing materials. Maintain proficiency in PCDCs research tools to include databases subscriptions and other research sources online (Census, ACS, etc.).

Provide PCDC exposure and involvement in events hosted by other groups (i.e. Chamber, City, PFISD) and represent PCDC at board meetings and other partnerships as needed.

Ability to travel as needed (approximately one to two trips per month) including both domestic and international travel. Assist with tradeshow planning and execution of appointments, meetings, and engagement.

Call on real estate companies, site selectors, engineering firms, landowners to identify collaborative work
opportunities as requested.

Attend business functions including broker events, site selection conferences, trade shows, venue marketing, and related events as needed.

Work with the Business Development Director to research and maintain qualitative and quantitative data regarding local industry for recruiting efforts and provide information for press releases and marketing materials

Attend City Council Work Sessions, and City Council meetings as appropriate and present economic development updates at various community meetings as appropriate.

Maintain & improve professional knowledge, accreditations and alliances through educational conferences, seminars and/or webinars.

Plan, assign, train and/or supervise the work of others as needed.

Communicate ideas and recommendations through verbal and written reports.
Qualifications:Strong written, oral skills primarily focused on communicating technical and economic development information.

Knowledge of program and project management methods and techniques.

Knowledge of corporate sales/account management.

Knowledge of applicable governmental laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.

Knowledge of contract administration procedures including procedures and policies.

Knowledge of municipal budgeting processes and procedures.

Knowledge of computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, Web Authoring Tools and Mapping Tools are a plus).

Knowledge of economic development methods and procedures.

Knowledge of effective planning and coordination techniques.

Skill in gathering, processing and analyzing data.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and resolve problems or situations.

Ability to perform research.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelorís degree; masters degree preferred.

Minimum of 2 years full-time experience in economic development in a governmental agency or corporation.

Professional experience with contact management, budget analysis and record keeping.

Certifications in economic development, process management, project management desired.

Possession of a valid Class C Texas Driverís license.
