Swim Lesson Instructor (Water Safety Instructor)

|Description:||Teach various levels of the City Swim Lesson Program to children ages 6months to 13yrs old to ensure swimmers are learning water safety, proper swim technique, and increasing their abilities. Prepare swim lesson plans and adapt teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of the participants. Adequately cover all skills required for a given level. Assist Swim Lessons Coordinator with evaluating and improving the overall quality of the program for all participants. |
Requirements: Ability to effectively supervise groups of children. Demonstrate a pleasing personality and positive/assertive traits. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with children and an ability to establish and maintain positive public relations with parents/guardians of class participants. Must be at least 16 years old by time swim instruction begins and have the ability to attend Water Safety Instructor Certification Course.
|Qualifications:||Ability to effectively supervise groups of people. Excellent communication (verbal & written), & organizational skills. Ability to establish & maintain professionally effective relationships with external public, internal management, and other City officials. Must be at least 16 years of age and possess an American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Certification or have the ability to obtain certifications upon hiring. |
