Nursery Attendant- P/T, Mornings

Location:Pflugerville, TX
Salary Range:$8.20/Hrly

Description:Provide quality morning time childcare 8:30am to 12:00pm Monday-Friday while parents use the Recreational Center facilities.

Frequent daily interaction with children (infants to age 7) and their parents.

Frequent daily contact with the public and City employees in person and by telephone.

Duties:1. Provide a loving, safe and nurturing environment for each child left in the nursery by interacting, playing, reading, singing, and/or creating arts & crafts. Learn the children’s names.

2. Ensure that children are properly checked in and released only to the parent or guardian. Ensure that children never leave the nursery and are never left in the nursery unattended.

3. Take appropriate steps to ensure the nursery is free of any safety hazards. Maintain the nursery in a clean and orderly fashion.

4. Communicate any concerns over a child’s behavior to the parent in a diplomatic and supportive manner.

5. May cross train as PT Recreation Center Receptionist providing customer service as well as a variety of administrative and clerical tasks relating to the Recreation Center
Qualifications:Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to interact in a professional manner under stressful conditions.

Ability to ensure a safe environment for children.

Ability to work well with parents and staff in order to provide quality care to children.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must enjoy infants, toddlers, and pre-school aged children.

First Aid and infant CPR certification required within 2 months of employment.

Previous experience in a child care field is desirable.
